Fallen Angel
The concept is of a model, in black lingerie, yes, Victoria’s Secret, in angel’s wings on a pebble’d beach. Simple to excuse, but the lighting and the shooting angels are what will make this photoshoot standout; while the makeup is to be a bit over the top, reflecting the “naughty” nature of this angel.
The session was planned to commence at 1pm and to go on up to 5pm. It’s practically a ½ day’s shoot.
Unfortunately I timed it wrong, as by the time we were done with the makeup I had lost the sun, which was needed at a particular angle to provide a specific form of shadow and contrast!
But not only had we lost the sun, the appellation of the makeup and the hair styling took longer than expected, took close to 3 hours instead of the normal 2 hours! Because of it being the holy month of Ramadan, where people need to break their fasting at sunset (around 6pm), I can’t keep the team around beyond 5pm as they’d need to make their way home, in readiness for their breakfast!
As such, because of the multiple issues, it was decided to call off this shoot in its entirety, not even a possibility for a compromised concept; and to schedule it for another day.
Wasn’t a wasted day, per se, as we now know how long it will take do get the makeup, nails, and hair done; and we know at what specific time the sun will provide the desired contrast and shadow, so a reschedule is very fitting.
