Amnesia - Part II
The concept is bigger than what I could have achieved in a single day’s shoot; so I had it broken down into smaller chunks to make it achievable without stress on anyone.
This part would see the model posed in the middle of the street. I did aim to have her with balloons too.
As usual, outfit check done at “base”, hair and makeup was also done at ”base'“; as well as checking all the gear. Weather was checked for viability, as we are in the middle of a season shift and hence sandstorms would be expected.
Drive to location is about 2 hours from “base”, which isn’t a problem as I am more than used to driving a whole day (8 hours) for a single shot that takes about 1 hour to capture. It’s part of a photographer’s life and quest for that great image.
Sure enough, sandstorm was with us the whole day, which limited out ability to shoot the poses we wanted, what the props we wanted (the balloons); but we improvised, and thankfully managed to get a few amazing middle-of-the-street poses that were complimented by the passing nomad as well as the odd cars.
Due to severity of sandstorm we had to cut short our in-street- shoot, and decided to try a different and unplanned location, the derelict and abandoned hut. The aim was to use it to shield us from the attacking sand being blown in our direction; and sure enough it proved to be an exceptionally good idea.
But again, didn’t want to push the time as we were all being hit hard with debris, and getting sand-blasted. Not to mention my poor gear that weren’t very happy either.
In total we probably ended up spending no more than 1 hour shooting, as opposed to the planned 4 hours; but that one hour yielded us these results.
It was a great day, we all returned in one piece, and no hard nor damage came to any of the gear.
